Calling Pacific Changemakers – Join Us in Thailand
Imagine yourself walking through vibrant Bangkok markets, exchanging ideas with young innovators, and collaborating on projects that connect the Pacific and Asia. This isn’t just travel — it’s an opportunity to grow as a global citizen, expand your networks, and bring new skills back to your community.
"Before this programme, I had never imagined how deeply another culture could shape the way I see my role in the Pacific." — PMSA Vietnam 2024 Alum
A Scholarship That’s More Than Study Abroad
We are inviting Expressions of Interest from Pacific community members across Aotearoa for our next Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia (PMSA) Thailand Experience.
This life-changing programme will take participants to Thailand for a multi-faceted learning journey, delivered in partnership with Education New Zealand Manapou ki te ao, Pagoda Projects, and the Princess Chulabhorn Schools network. It’s a rare chance to experience Thailand’s rich culture, explore its STEM and innovation sectors, and connect with young leaders from across the globe.
Why Thailand? Why Now?
The Pacific and Asia share deep cultural and economic connections. Thailand offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity — from advanced research in science and technology to a vibrant creative sector.
"I returned from Vietnam with a completely different perspective on what’s possible for our region. We have so much to offer — and so much to learn — when we connect beyond our shores." — PMSA Vietnam 2024 Alum
The Growth You’ll Experience
This programme is designed to:
Develop global citizenship skills that will serve you in your career and community work.
Expose you to STEM opportunities and cross-cultural learning environments.
Build your leadership confidence and network with like-minded change-makers.
"The confidence I gained from speaking in front of business leaders in Vietnam has stayed with me. I use those skills every day in my job back home." — PMSA Vietnam 2024 Alum
Our Track Record
This is PCF’s second time working with Pagoda Projects to deliver an international immersion experience. Past participants — like our PMSA Vietnam alumni — have returned with new skills, friendships, and a renewed drive to contribute to their communities.
"The programme helped me see that I’m part of something bigger. I came home proud to represent the Pacific — and motivated to act." — PMSA Vietnam 2024 Alum
