Pasifika Uprising

Pasifika Uprising is a Pacific Islander-managed and serving non-profit organisation with the mission to “tell our stories on our own terms”.

They believe the stories of Pasifika people should be told by Pasifika people and should lead to dispel stereotypes.

Our stories can empower us and non-Pasifika people to examine the mainstream narrative.

The organisation embraces the long, rich lineage Pacific islanders have and uses this to create depth and a new perspective into our histories and stories. They use their platform to speak up about issues (large scale and small) that affect Pasifika people and advocate for change with call to action methods, petitions and much more. Climate activism is especially big for them as they consistently support and motivate others to make a change.

Indigenous communities bring generations of culture, knowledge, and perspective interconnected with conservation and environmental stewardship.
